About Us |

 Nickels Orchards is a family owned and operated fruit farm since 1961. The farm consists of 135 acres of prime land.
Here at Nickels Orchards we take great care of environmental responsibilities. We use IPM- integrated pest management which means that we always search out insects before we spray. We hire specially trained scouts to do this job plus we are also checking on a daily basis.
All of our wonderful fruit trees need nutrition as well as a healthy supply of water. For nutrition we do soil analysis to check for adequate fertilizer and when water is needed we use a very sophisticated computerized irrigation system. We only water our trees when necessary.
 We pride ourselves on only hand picking quality fruit at its prime. Once harvested we cool all the fruit so that summers heat won’t make the fruit ripen faster than you can eat it. It’s very important for us to properly handle and store the fruit.
Thanks to our controlled atmosphere storage facilities, we can actually put our ripened apples to sleep, ensuring our retail stand is stocked with a wide selection of Ontario farm fresh apples all year round.
